Monti is a town of 2,440 inhabitants that lies in the southern part of Gallura , about 21 km from the city of  Olbia, easily accessible through the highway Olbia-Sassari.
Located at the foot of the majestic  Limbara Mountain , the village is surrounded by vast cork oak forest and well-look after vineyards.
It is the wine that made famous this charming corner of Gallura; Vermentino is a fine white wine, this particular grape is cultivated  over  300 hectares.
Every year in August  is held a prestigious wine festival to celebrate   this  worldwide renowned Sardinian wine.
Also of particular interest are the archaeological evidence (Giants’s Graves and several Nuraghi, the age-bronze conic towers) and the  natural habitat of the area made of  rolling hills, punctuated with grass fields and vineyards that stretches up to S'Ambiddalzu  plateau,  which dominates  much of the  Gallura’s  coastline and  its virgin  mountainous territory.
Worth a mention is the  protected natural reserve which is managed by the regional rangers: the oasis is populated by deer, wild boar, the unique  Muflone, a distinctive brown long horned mountain goat, the Island fauna  symbol, wild goats, hawks and also by the  rare  S'Intulzu, the Sardinian  buzzard .
